Microsoft 365 E3
The standard enterprise Microsoft 365 plan with Office, identity, device management, and basic security.
Microsoft 365 E3 is the standard enterprise Microsoft 365 plan, bundling Office apps for Enterprise, Exchange Online (Plan 2), SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft Entra ID P1, Microsoft Intune, Azure Information Protection P1 (sensitivity labels), and basic Purview retention. The right baseline for most enterprise knowledge workers. Compared to E5, it lacks the full Defender stack (Defender for Office 365 Plan 2, Defender for Endpoint Plan 2, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps), advanced Purview (eDiscovery Premium, Insider Risk Management), Power BI Pro, Microsoft Entra ID P2 (PIM, Identity Protection), and Teams Phone Standard. Many tenants run E3 as base with step-up SKUs for specific users needing E5 features.
