Workspace

A workspace in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric is the container for reports, semantic models, dataflows, lakehouses, warehouses, notebooks, and other content — with shared access and lifecycle. Each workspace has members with roles (Admin, Member, Contributor, Viewer), a region (data residency), an attached capacity (Pro, PPU, Premium, Fabric F-SKU), and a lifecycle. The unit of collaboration for BI/analytics teams. My Workspace is each user's personal workspace; shared workspaces are where most production content lives. Workspaces can be promoted to Featured content for tenant-wide discoverability or used as stages in deployment pipelines for dev → test → prod promotion.
