Universal Print
Microsoft's cloud printing service for Microsoft 365 — print without on-prem print servers.
Universal Print is Microsoft's cloud printing service for Microsoft 365 — print from any device to any registered printer, without on-premises print servers. Printers connect to Universal Print either natively (newer "Universal Print-compatible" printers from HP, Lexmark, Canon, Xerox, others) or via a small connector software for legacy printers. User access is governed through Entra ID groups. Users see registered printers in the Windows print dialog without any driver install. Removes a long-running pain point — running and patching print servers, deploying drivers to endpoints — for Microsoft 365-managed estates. Licensed by print job volume, with each Microsoft 365 plan including a monthly allotment.
