Teams App Policy

A Teams admin policy controlling which apps users can install or have pinned in Microsoft Teams.

A Teams app policy is the admin policy controlling which Microsoft Teams apps users can install or have pinned in their Teams client. Two main flavours: app permission policies decide which apps each user is allowed to install (allow all, allow list, block list, allow no third-party); app setup policies decide which apps are pinned by default in each user's Teams sidebar (e.g., pin company-built LOB apps, pin specific external apps for sales reps). Assigned per-user or per-group from the Teams Admin Center. App-centric management adds per-app, per-user control with finer granularity. Combined with Defender for Cloud Apps for OAuth-permission monitoring, app policies provide the governance layer for Teams app sprawl.
