Microsoft Search
The unified search experience across Microsoft 365 apps, indexing Microsoft 365 content plus connected third-party sources.
Microsoft Search is the unified search experience across Microsoft 365 — the search box at the top of Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Office apps, and Bing-at-work, all backed by the same per-tenant index. It searches files in SharePoint and OneDrive, Teams messages, Outlook mail, calendar events, people in the directory, and (via Microsoft Graph connectors) third-party content like Jira, ServiceNow, and GitHub. Results are personalised and permission-trimmed — users see only what they're authorised to access. Admins influence ranking through the Search & Intelligence admin center: bookmarks, answers, acronyms, Q&A, and verticals. Foundation for both day-to-day discovery and Microsoft 365 Copilot grounding.
