Microsoft 365 Developer Program
A free developer subscription providing a Microsoft 365 E5 tenant with sample data for testing and development.
The Microsoft 365 Developer Program at developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/dev-program provides developers with a free Microsoft 365 E5 tenant for testing, development, and learning. The dev tenant includes:
- 25 user accounts pre-provisioned with mailboxes.
- E5 feature set — Defender, Purview, Power BI, Teams Phone, all advanced features.
- Sample data — emails, files, calendar events, Teams chats — so the tenant feels alive.
- Tenant active for 90 days at a time, renewable based on activity (publishing apps, building integrations).
The dev tenant is separate from any production tenant — perfect for testing Conditional Access policies, sensitivity labels, custom apps, Graph integrations, Copilot Studio agents without risking production.
