Dataflow

A dataflow is a reusable, cloud-hosted Power Query data preparation pipeline. Authors define connections and transformations using the Power Query editor; the dataflow runs on schedule in the cloud, producing transformed datasets that downstream reports and apps consume without re-doing the work. Dataflows exist in Power BI / Microsoft Fabric (for analytics scenarios) and Power Platform / Dataverse (for app and automation scenarios). Dataflow Gen2 in Fabric adds destination support — write to OneLake lakehouses, Fabric warehouses, Azure Data Lake Storage. The key value: prepare data once centrally, reuse across many consumers.
