Copilot Chat

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is the standalone conversational AI surface in Microsoft 365. Two tiers: a free Copilot Chat that answers from the open web only, available to any signed-in Microsoft 365 user with appropriate plans; and the paid Microsoft 365 Copilot that adds tenant data grounding — Copilot Chat queries the Microsoft Graph to pull relevant files, emails, meetings, and chats from your tenant as context. The paid tier is where Copilot's real differentiation lives: answers grounded in your work, not the public internet. Accessed via m365.cloud.microsoft/chat, the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app, and the Copilot Chat tab inside Microsoft Teams.
